Nasser Alzayani, Watering the distant, deserting the near, Ph. Xavier Ansart

Nasser Alzayani (1991, Bahrain) has been announced the winner of the Richard Mille Art Prize, a new award for contemporary art practices born from the collaboration between the Richard Mille brand and the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The prize, combined with an annual exhibition, the Louvre Abu Dhabi Art Here, will run for the next ten years and see the finalist's dialogue in the Contemporary Forum spaces within the Louvre Abu Dhabi. The winner of the first edition was the work Watering the distant, deserting the nearby Nasser Alzayani, in which sand tablets with fragile inscriptions on the surface gave a new look at the theme Mémoire, temps, territoire, opening a path of dialogue between personal memory and territory.
